'Racing against the endless desert', oil painting on canvas 90cm x 50cm. Like many, the Dakar is an event that has always fascinated me. It has that sense of adventure about it and is just as much about battling the terrain and conditions as racing your competitors. Like targas, rally and road racing, it gives me a chance to paint racing machinery in a landscape and also a chance to paint atmosphere and light better giving someone looking at my paintings a glimpse on what it was like to be there in that moment in time.
